I still can't fucking get over how cetaceans adapted to spend their entire lives in the water and just never bothered to redevelop water-breathing. there's motherfuckers who spend an hour or more diving and the evolutionary solution is just "breathe a lot on the surface and then lower your heart rate to a near-hibernation level while actively cruising the seafloor for stuff to eat". totally insane solution to one of the oldest solved problems in biology

Thinking about the fact that when Harrow finally breaks to Ortus, she says “She died because I let her!” And we’ve previously learned that Gideon specifically pierced her heart on the fence and Harrow “has always had a knack for the aorta” back from when she used to keep old Ninth acolytes going long enough for their last rites…so picturing Harrow totally spent trying to summon any ounce of ability to do something she definitely knows how to do, something she’s particularly good at, something that might actually keep her Nav alive but she’s utterly out of ability to do it…so she just internalizes the failure like every single other time in her miserable life. Ugh.

Just realized that the reason I love making friends on tumblr is because it’s exactly how you make friends on the playground as a six year old. No, I don’t know their name but they love mermaids too and built this awesome sand castle. No, I don’t know their age but their imaginary cheetah is friends with mine. You like this show? You like this character?? You can sing the theme song really loud??? Here is a flower crown. Here is a juice box.
